YOUR MOVE, YOUR PRIORITIES

Moving to a warm climate: four city scenarios

Da Nang, Nha Trang, Phuket and Penang: historical monthly-mean temperatures for one period, household budgets and climate comparison limits.

How can I compare warm cities for relocation?

Da Nang, Nha Trang, Phuket and Penang each have a complete series of 12 monthly means for the same 2001–2020 period. Each city card shows the range from its coolest to its warmest monthly mean. This compares temperature, without promising year-round comfort.

How these cities were selected

Four cities with complete monthly-mean temperature series for the same 2001–2020 period. Editorial order, with no “best climate” ranking.

  • Temperature range: the minimum and maximum among 12 monthly means.
  • A shared observation period: 2001–2020 for all four cities.
  • A separate living budget: the same household, housing, school and transport.

Cities and planning costs

Editorial scenario: 2 adults and a 7-year-old child, 2 bedrooms, rented housing, private school, public transport, balanced lifestyle, no pets or vehicle purchase.

Amounts come from the XPATUS calculator using editorial assumptions without a market-price verification date. These are not quotes or national averages. One-off moving costs and taxes are excluded; change the calculator profile for your own household.

Shortlist methodology & limits
  • Monthly means do not describe daytime extremes, humidity, air pollution, rainy seasons or personal comfort. This is historical climatology, not a forecast.
  • This shortlist does not establish entry, work, residence or tax eligibility. Conditions depend on citizenship, application location and activity.

Common questions

Does the temperature range show daily lows and highs?

No. It is the minimum and maximum among 12 monthly means. Individual days can be substantially outside this range.

Why is there no overall climate winner?

Tolerance of heat, humidity and rain is individual. One temperature series does not measure the entire climate, and different observation periods should not automatically be ranked together.

Is this a forecast for my moving date?

No. This is historical climatology with its period and source link. The temperature on a particular day can differ from the monthly mean.
