FCDO reports limited medicine supplies and equipment in many hospitals. Insurers often refer serious cases to Europe or New Delhi: check medical-evacuation cover in advance.

Everyday life: national rules
School enrolment for a foreign child
An electronic application is available through my.gov.uz or my.maktab.uz. Transfer pupils need records of subjects and grades translated into the state language; first-grade entrants are exempt from that record requirement.
Temporary import of your own car
FCDO states foreign nationals may bring their own car without import duties and taxes for up to 90 days, after which daily fees apply. Declare it on entry and carry registration documents and insurance valid in Uzbekistan.
CLIMATE & HOME
What the seasons feel like
A daily mean includes the night. It is not a heat ceiling: individual days can be much hotter.

Housing: questions before signing
There is a cool season here; heating provision varies by home.
- How is the bedroom heated, and can you control the temperature overnight?
- What did electricity and heating cost in winter? Request actual bills.
- Are there drafts, wet walls or a musty smell? Request video of corners and cupboards.
- When was the boiler or heat pump last serviced, if installed?
Residence & citizenship
Residence and citizenship are separate procedures. A passport follows a separate citizenship decision.
IT Visa: up to three years for eligible applicants
The programme targets foreign investors, company founders and IT specialists.
- The Ministry of Digital Technologies describes a multiple-entry visa valid for up to three years. Eligibility in one of the categories must be evidenced; it is not an automatic entitlement for every remote worker.
Guide summary, not an individual eligibility assessment. Guide date: · Primary source
Eligibility depends on nationality, status, family and documents. Years are a pre-application residence condition, excluding time to obtain the initial status and processing.

Registration: owner involvement and E-mehmon
The 2025 registration law places timely-registration duties on the accommodation provider.
- Hotels register guests through E-mehmon. For a rental, agree address registration and receipt of confirmation with the owner in advance; a visa alone does not remove registration requirements.
