9(g) — employer-sponsored employment
Employer-sponsored 9(g): 1–3 years based on the contract, DOLE/AEP permission and immigration processing. An announced nomad visa is not treated as open without a verified application process.
Salary and terms follow the contract; no verified universal nomad income threshold
Documents for this route
- Joint petition, CGAF, passport and lawful stay; contract stating salary, duties and term.
- DOLE AEP and publication; employer ITR, SEC/DTI registration, mayor’s permit and notarized workforce details.
- BI clearance; professional/quarantine documents where applicable. Family members need the separate current BI checklist.
What to do before departure
Order police certificates from the required countries. Check whether validity is measured from issue, entry or filing. Prepare birth, marriage and name-change records; check apostille or consular legalization, treaty exemptions and translation requirements. An apostille and a translation are different procedures.
Leave a tailored power of attorney with a trusted person: specify banks, property, document collection and representation. Confirm each institution will accept it, any substitution authority and expiry. Do not hand over banking passwords.
Full pre-departure checklistPartner, children & pets
9(g) has a separate spouse and unmarried-child-under-21 package. Schools, a paediatrician and bad-weather backup plans matter more than beach proximity.
Check each family member's residence, work and study rights separately. Children may need custody documents, the other parent's consent specifically to residence, school records and vaccination history. Pet preparation depends on departure, transit, airline and destination veterinary rules.
